Newt Gingrich commented on the recent midterm election as positive for the United States. He cautioned that Democrats may struggle in 2028 if they follow a hard-left agenda without working alongside President Trump. He highlighted that party unity and realistic strategies will matter more than speculative narratives. Gingrich also claimed that the 2028 Republican presidential contest may not be as competitive as many anticipate, minimizing the impact of the midterm losses on the GOP field. The race’s openness will depend on deadlines for candidate filings and voter participation, he said.
